Full of It
I used to share a 4 bedroom, 1 bath house with 3 others. Â The unfinished basement also had a toilet but no walls or sink. Â One of my roommates was embarrassed of any noises that he might make in the bathroom, so would go down two flights of stairs to use the basement toilet. Â
One day, I had to go down to the basement to get something from storage and was overwhelmed by the stench. Â At some point – weeks before that – the toilet had gotten blocked and stopped working. Â Despite that, he had continued to use it regularly. Â It was full, almost to the brim.
When he suggested that we split the cost of the plumber to fix the toilet, we suggested that he find someplace else to live.

What is it about some dudes and their inability to understand that “everybody poops” I had a roommate in college who would run the shower every time he had to crap. He’d hold it for so long he would run/waddle to the bathroom with a look on his face like “nothing is going on here, everything is good, just waddling quickly to the bathroom to, uh….brush my hair”.
My other roommate and I had an internal check list. First the “clunk” of the toilet seat hitting the rim. Then the shower running. Then his jeans hitting the floor (yes, we had pathetically little to do with our time). He also used more toilet paper than anyone I’ve ever met in my life. After a good fifteen minutes, he’d light a match and flush several times. Then walk out with a relaxed look on his face, not understanding why two other guys were giggling at him.
I hate sharing bathrooms, so I run the sink. Why couldn’t he just do that? -_-
I’m married 12 years now, and I still run the sink, open the window, clean the john afterwards if it needs it…even bought one of those air freshener thingies that squirts every 10 minutes. No one needs to see or smell what I’ve been up to.
What people are thinking is beyond me…
