Man, I would have kicked that guy through a brick wall if he tried to put rotten fruit salad down my hoodie. I know you weren’t really able to stand up for yourself, but running away is a little bit much.

I didn’t because he was taller & weighed more than I did. Plus, I didn’t want to invoke the wrath of God because I OBVIOUSLY didn’t know Him like I thought I did.

Frau Blucher, we were 21 at the time.

Kate, I let them do that because at the time…I was extremely passive. I mean I was sarcastic & sassy, but when it came to sticking up for myself I really had a hard time with it. I still struggle with that with my current roommate but I’m a ton better. Plus the fact that there was only one of me & 4 of them. I was definitely outnumbered.

Oh yeah, I forgot that the most obnoxious one would go through my roommate’s computer to see what sites he’d been to “to keep him accountable.” I asked him if my roommate asked him to do that & he said no, that he just knew it was his duty as his brother in Christ. After that I always made sure my password was set.

I know those types of “Christians”…Sword o’ the Lord on Earth. Which is why I got away from that crowd my Freshman year of Uni. They believe if they’ve got the word of God behind them, they’re justified in carrying out whatever actions seem necessary to “bring you back to the fold” or treat you like a horrid sinner you are. The good news is that these sorts burn themselves out pretty fast. The bad news is that there are tons more just like them.

I think Heaven’s gonna be filled with assholes if this is the kind of folk God’s looking to spread His word.
