I’ve read up about crazy cat people, and some study claimed that people affected with toxoplasmosis become unaware (sometimes even favor) the smell of kitty piss. I work at an animal clinic and some owners smell as if they bathe in it. I even have a friend with a zoo of cats and their belongings reek.
To be fair though, I had a dog that was untrained when I adopted him, and he ruined my carpet. I could still smell it, and could never get the smell out. Maybe it’s different with dogs?

I think you can certainly tune it out if you live in it long enough. At a certain point you cannot ever get the smell out of the couch or carpet, so I think people just give up and resign themselves to the smell. You can easily identify these people because they wander around in schools and public places smelling of cats and don’t seem to know.

It’s amazing to read about how some people have such a high tolerance for filth & piss. I mean if these people were sitting in it, then they may or may not have a mental disorder.
