reguardless, blood of ANY kind is a biohazard. saying its okay to wash a menstral cup in the dishwasher is like saying its okay to wash used syringes with soap and water for re-use. what if she had HIV? People with the disease who dont live alone are advised to eat and drink out of disposible plates cups bowls and utensils, as well as wash thier clothes seperately. cause even though its “clean,” does not mean its sanitary.

Technically if you rinse it off, shove it in the dishwasher…I really do think it would be just as clean as anything out of a dishwasher would be. Nevertheless, it’s like how people won’t drink out of a toiletbowl even if it’s brand new/completely clean-the idea itself is a bit repulsive!

I have to say it is very different from other blood seeing as it is not mostly blood but the lining of your uterus. I can’t believe you wouldn’t mind that being on your dishes, and in any case I wouldn’t put something with any kind of blood in the dishwasher. ick.

I don’t think it’s entirely irrational to expect that people have an issue with something that is worn in the crotch coming in contact with something that is put in the mouth regardless of how clean things get. If soap and water cleans it, why doesn’t she clean it herself? In the bathroom, where things that have to do with the crotch are usually dealt with?

Okay, the leaving the dishes around and all that kind of stuff is pretty gross. But putting the cup in the dishwasher? Not that abnormal. I mean, it’s hot water and soap, and it cleans everything up. If you had a period stain on a pair of underwear, would you refuse to wash it in the same load as your other clothes, too?

Get a grip on yourself, menstrual blood isn’t any different than regular blood, and a dishwasher is meant to, you know, CLEAN things that are DIRTY. And that’s what she was using it for.
