My Ex-Hubbie’s Friend and Roommate

My Very Worst Roommate was a friend of my ex-husband.
At the time, we lived in an expensive tourist town and had to have roommates to share expenses. We had J and another couple at first. Then the other couple moved out and we had my ex’s sister (who was not really a big problem). J, however, was in so many ways. He worked a couple different jobs, and for a while worked at KFC. This was OK except that our entire fridge would get filled with KFC boxes. It was hard to know what was good and what was old because he never threw out anything. He also never cleaned up anything. He also smoked pot in the apartment (which bothered me, but in his defence my ex and his sister also always smoked inside too).
He had a bedroom on the main floor that had a balcony off the back. We thought that when he took out the trash that he was actually taking it to the dumpster. Some months later, we found out that he hadn’t been taking to the dumpster, but had let it pile up on the back porch! To the point that the entire porch was piled high with garbage and animals had gotten into is spreading it everywhere. After realizing this, we pleaded with him to clean it up, but to no avail. It got so bad that someone wrote in to our local news paper saying how disgusting our place was and how the mess was attracting wildlife! When that happened, we ended up getting together as a household to clear it out.
To be continued tomorrow…

He obviously didnt know about Crack Foxes
How did you not know he was only leaving it on the porch?
And our first “to be continued” post! This is so exciting, you guys!
@Andrew – We’re assuming non-sarcasm:) in your comment. And we’ll be doing a week of 2fers on MVWR. We hope you and all our much-loved commenters will weigh in on which part/which roommate is worse…Come back tomorrow!
wooah….that will be interesting! It also makes no sense that she roomed with the exes friends, start fresh?
Not a fan of “to be continued…”
This is like having the phone ring halfway through someone’s story.
I like “to be continued.” But then again, I have no life.
Anyone remember the KFC Chicken Little sandwiches?
Crack Foxes are definitely horrid roommates.
Karen, I think that the ex probably wasn’t an ex at the time, but that’s just how I’m reading the story.
Not a fan of the “to be continued”, or this story. Both are dumb, in my opinion.
Agreeing with pna. The story’s not that long or interesting to be chopped in half, I’m not exactly on the edge of my seat here.
How could one not notice boxes of rotting food and wild life skittering around in one’s back garden?
I’m with Smeh.
Not a fan of “to be continued…”
There had better be an awesome pay-off.

Hi, I’m the one who wrote this story. Figured I should respond to some questions.
1. The back porch was only connected by his room (weird I know). And it backed onto an alley way that I really didn’t have much reason to go to since I always entered from the front. I probably would have noticed a smell, however it was winter and that kept the smell down.
2. Yes, my ex husband was not my ex husband at the time. And there is NO WAY I would live with him now! LOL
