This is just really sad to me. My brother is gay and I know he struggled with it for many years because my parents are extremely homophobic.
The OP and by assumption, Paul, were only in first year of University/College. Hopefully Paul has gotten more comfortable with himself and matured. (Or will mature as he gets older) and realizes how important it is to be honest with himself.

I was going to leave a comment that Koreans are pretty affectionate with each other, even of the same sex, and it's not gay. I lived in S. Korea for three years, and often saw guys hug, girls holding hands on the street, etc. It wasn't considered gay because "Korea has no gay." Fortunately, the more educated knew there are homosexuals in Korea (obviously), but many are still very closeted, due to the discrimination against them (think USA 1950's).

Then I read the rest of the entry. Yeah. Comp Sci HIS ass!

Back in college, when I was dating my now-husband, one of his dorm suite roommates would always crank the thermostat way up and then just walk around in swim trunks. My husband would keep turning it back down to a more reasonable temp, and the two would continue to battle it out passive-aggressively this way. One evening, this guy removed the thermostat's dial and locked it in his room, preventing anyone from changing the temp. I can't remember how they got it back from him, but they did eventually.

Among his other irritating habits were leaving his room locked when he was gone over the weekend with his alarm still blaring, borrowing money and never paying it back, sneaking into his roommates' rooms and stealing their alcohol, constantly chugging giant tubfuls of some nasty proprietary chemical-laden muscle drink (and then leaving the empty tubs everywhere), absolutely never lifting a finger to help clean anything... and the list goes on.

I suppose this should be its own MVWR entry, but he wasn't my roommate, and I know my husband would never take the time to write up the whole story =[
