a) What, was the roommate telling her professor beau with the charming accent to be a creeper just to bother the OP or something? Yes, it’s creepy and unpleasant, but it’s not something the roommate has any control over. Just a guess, but I doubt it was much fun for the roommate either.
b) Did the roommate’s visitors keep eating all your food or clogging up the toilet or set stuff on fire or leave used condoms everywhere or something? Were they constantly screaming and shouting and knocking stuff over while in the throes of activity? Or were they just there having sex with the roommate? Because that would make just as much noise as somebody having sex with a steady boyfriend on a regular basis. And the OP didn’t mention that being a problem with the professor boyfriend. Which leads me to…
c) Did you expect to have complete silence at all times? Because that’s not going to happen if you’re sharing a living space with somebody, even if nobody is having sex.

I’d like to see your roommate’s post on this site. “My crazy ex was stalking me and even though I did my best to address the situation, my roommate acted as though I were doing it intentionally to inconvenience her. So, your roommate is being stalked and harassed by an ex boyfriend, and she’s a bad roommate because it’s inconveniencing you? You don’t sound terribly sympathetic.

And you don’t have a right to silence in your house. People should be able to do as they please in their own rooms, within reason. If they were having obnoxious theatrical sex, that’s one thing, but if the sound just happens to carry in an old house, you need to put in some earplugs or turn on some music and deal. Judge quietly if you must, but it’s really none of your business what she’s doing, or how many men she’s bringing home. She didn’t have any more obligation to the creep showing up on your doorstep, as you seem to imply. All you had to do was politely say “You know, it’s funny how much you hear in this house at night. Have you ever noticed how thin the walls are?…”
